Why The Listening Place exists

Suicide kills around 18 a day in the UK. It is still the leading cause of death for all people under 35 in the UK, with most of those who die having sought, but not found, support and help.

We are here to change this. We offer free support with a trained volunteer, to talk through suicidal feelings and ensure people aren’t alone when they feel life is no longer worth living.

Join our team of volunteers

We need warm, empathetic, caring and resilient individuals who want to help others and have the time to offer ongoing, non-judgmental, face-to-face support.

The Advisory Team

When I first came here I was in a very dark place. I truly believed my life was over and there was no longer a place for me… I can honestly say that The Listening Place has saved my life. Thank you so much.
