Donating in memory

Donating or fundraising in someone’s memory is a powerful way to commemorate a loved one and help others. These donations represent the remembrance of loved individuals and we are so grateful to receive them.

Funeral collections

Collecting donations for The Listening Place at a funeral either by a collection or in place of flowers can be a fitting way to commemorate your loved ones. If you are interested, we can provide a blurb on The Listening Place or donation envelopes for the service.

If friends and family can’t be there, a JustGiving page can also be an effective way to allow friends and family to commemorate a loved one.

If it’s getting too much

If you find that you’re struggling after losing a loved one, we recommend contacting the bereavement charity Cruse Bereavement Support on 0808 808 1677 for advice and support.

Posting donations

In order to help us thank families in a timely manner, please try to make donations online if possible. If you are a Funeral Director wishing to pay in a collection on behalf of a family, please follow this link.

Any cheques should be made payable to ‘The Listening Place’, and sent to us at:

The Listening Place
3 Meade Mews
Pimlico, London
SW1P 4EG.

We will receive these cheques, there will be a delay in our ability to acknowledge them. If you’ve collected cash, please don’t send it through the post. You can bank the cash and send us a cheque for the equivalent amount, or you can call our donations line on 020 3906 7676 or email memorygift@listeningplace.org.uk to arrange a call back.

We think it’s important that we acknowledge these donations correctly. To help us do this, please include the following if sending funds through the post:

  1. Name of the person in whose memory the donation is made
  2. Your name and address and your relationship to the person
  3. If you aren’t the next of kin, please include their name and address as we will let them know that you have made an in-memory gift

Thank you so much for honouring your loved one by helping to support people who feel life is no longer worth living.
